Ingredients

  1. Sausage
  2. Quail eggs
  3. Breadcrumbs
  4. Chicken eggs or duck eggs
  5. Flour for frying
  6. Vegetable oil
  7. Shoyu
  8. Fish broth
  9. Sugar
  10. Mirin
  11. Egg white sticks
  12. Cheddar Cheese slices
  13. Seaweed
  14. Japanese rice
  15. Vegetables of your choice

Cooking Method: Scotch Egg

  • Boil the quail eggs until cooked then peeled.
  • Take a large Cumberland pork sausage, remove the inside. Then wrap the quail eggs.
  • Then coated with flour, egg, and Woolworth bread crumbs. Once done, fry over medium heat. Egg Rolls
  • Crack an egg into a bowl and season with shoyu, fish broth, sugar, and mirin. Then beat together.
  • Filter the eggs, then fry on the pan to make egg rolls. Make 3-4 rolls. Assembling the Bento
  • Pack a bento box with poached vegetables and egg white sticks.
  • Make a hen by molding Japanese rice into a triangular shape. Cut the carrots into hearts and embroider them into the cockscomb. Use seaweed to make eyes.
  • Use California Premium Mild Cheddar Cheese slices as the nose, decorate as you like.
  • Make chicks by slicing egg rolls, adding eyes, adding noses, adding seaweed and cheese, and decorating with Scotch Eggs.
